The A17 5G has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen at 90 Hz, an Exynos 1330, 4 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage. The battery is 5,000 mAh. The 50 MP main camera is stabilised, which is still rare below 40,000 DZD.
Samsung promises up to six major Android updates on this model, according to GSMArena. That is the strongest argument against the Chinese competition at the same price, which often supports its software for two or three years.
The AMOLED panel is the second real advantage. At 32,400 DZD, many rivals still sell LCD. The difference shows outdoors, in direct sun, and in power draw when the screen stays on.
A07 or A17: what 11,500 DZD buys
The 64 GB Galaxy A07 5G starts at 20,900 DZD, with 18 active offers. It has a 6,000 mAh battery, a 6.7-inch screen and a Dimensity 6300. On paper, it lasts longer and costs a third less.
The A17 adds three things: an AMOLED screen, 128 GB instead of 64, and an Exynos 1330 that sits close to the Dimensity 6300 in daily use without clearly beating it.
For 11,500 DZD, the move to the A17 makes sense if you store photos and videos, or read a lot outdoors. If battery life comes first and 64 GB is enough, the A07 remains the best price per milliamp-hour.
A17 or A36: 20,600 DZD more
The 128 GB Galaxy A36 starts at 53,000 DZD, with 20 offers. It steps up: Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 6 GB of memory, a 6.7-inch screen and 5,000 mAh. The gain shows in games and heavy apps, not in everyday photos.
Twenty thousand dinars separate them. If your use is WhatsApp, YouTube, banking and calls, the A17 is enough, and the gap pays for a charger, a case and a memory card. If you play games or shoot a lot of video, the A36 lasts longer.

The median-price trap
A hurried buyer who takes the first A17 at 42,900 DZD overpays by 10,500 DZD, a third of the floor price. Three checks avoid that.
- The exact storage. The A17 comes in 128 GB and 256 GB. At 32,400 DZD it is the 128 GB; a shop advertising 256 GB at that price is either mistaken or misleading.
- The 4G or 5G version. Both exist and they are not equivalent. The floor price above is the 5G model, the only one we recommend.
- The warranty. A six-month local warranty is not the same as Samsung Algeria support. Ask for it in writing.
What to check before paying
- The exact model, A17 5G, and the storage on the box.
- The IMEI matched against the box and the invoice.
